W.R. continues the tour, emphasizing that the term “restoration” means exactly that—the car is fully restored and drivable.
Asked whether the restored cars can run on modem unleaded fuels, W.R. explains that the lead in gasoline served as a lubricant. “We harden the valve seats," he says. It seems a small compromise to actually drive that restored automobile.
There aren’t many compromises in White Post's work.

And, IF you are willing to commit many thousands of dollars more (the minimum cost of a job is usually around $100,000) and to wait for a year or two for your auto to be restored. And, IF you are fully committed to White Post’s high standards, you’ve got a shot at joining the company’s more than 1,000 satisfied customers.
Those customers include collectors like the Emir of Bahrain, movie stars including Elizabeth Taylor, and business titans like Bill Marriott. Most, however, although well heeled, are not household names and are not collectors.
