An important facet of White Post's restoration business is locating original parts. As one might guess, the Internet has proved to be a valuable tool. Then, too, all those years in the restoration business have provided a network of suppliers.
But it is Hemmings Motor News, the world's largest circulation auto publication, that serves as White Post’s primary source, Billy explains.
“W.R." Thompson III, 45, joins the tour. “He knows everything,” Billy says of his son.
W.R. grimaces. And, unlike his dapper, talkative father, everything about him is no-nonsense from his manner to his well-used work clothes.
The fatherly reference, Billy explains, is because W.R. serves as the company’s technical guru as well as vice president.
W.R. is a graduate of McPherson College in Kansas, the only college in the United States offering a degree in automotive restoration.
