The Theatre at Washington has released its 2004 Spring Schedule, which runs from January through June and includes live dramatic and musical entertainment, plus twice-monthly films.
The season opens on Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. with a “Close to Home” concert by Rappahannock native Donald Keyser and his “Country Rhythm Boys.”
This will be followed, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 by George Bernard Shaw’s play “The Apple Cart” in a production by Georgetown University’s Mask and Bauble Society.
Popular jazz guitarist Jimmy Bruno returns to the Theatre accompanied for the first time here by pianist Mark Kramer on Feb. 7. A week later the twelfth season in the Smithsonian at Little Washington Concert Series continues with music of Antonio Vivaldi, Benedetto Marcello, and J. S. Bach — another concert in the Smithsonian’s “Brilliance of the Baroque” performances.
Rounding out the month, on Feb. 21, the Brooks Tfegler Quartet will play a "Tribute to the Benny Goodman Trio and Quartet.”
For March, the Theatre will present Peabody Award winner Oscar Brand, the legendary guitarist, folksinger and balladeer, in a show entitled “Ballads and Ballots.”
And in April, veteran stage and film actor Ben Jones will repeat, by popular demand, his one-man show portraying
