Sharp Rock Vineyards won a gold medal for its 2002 Chamois Blanc at the 2003 “Wines of the South” competition held recently in Knoxville, Tenn.
It also won silver medals for three other 2002 wines: Chardonnay Reserve, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It won a bronze for the 2002 Sauvignon Blanc.
Their 2002 Chamois Blanc, a semi-dry blend of Chardonnay and Vidal, had already received a silver medal at the Indy International (one of the oldest competitions in the U.S., with nearly 3,000 entries) and bronze medals at the Atlanta International Wine Summit, the Virginia Governor’s Cup, and the Virginia Vinifera Winegrowers competitions.
