With seven of its 14 players from Rappahannock, the Culpeper Junior League All-Star softball team is headed to Florida for the Southeastern Regional Tbumament. The team brought home the state title after a clean sweep in the winner’s bracket at the playoffs last week.
“These are not only good ball players, but great young ladies as well,” said team manager Earl Mills of Rixeyville. The pride was clear in his voice as he went on to describe the hard work and dedication of each player on the team. The girls are 13 and 14 years old, many having played together since they were eight. The All-Stars were selected by their peers in June.
