Cuccinelli is also in favor of expanding nuclear power at Lake Anna: “We don't have to add coal provided power,” he said adding that there have been roadblocks to cleaner energy such as windmills that he would work to clear. He is also in favor of drilling for oil off the coast of Virginia.
Cuccinelli strongly advocates Virginia’s right-to-work laws, and repeatedly stated his intent to advocate the 10th Amendment which reserves powers to the states.
Cuccinelli’s agenda is fairly straightforward. He believes in a free market and limited government and he is not, he said, led by the latest poll numbers.
“You do the right thing and try to explain that to the voters,” he said.
“If people don't agree with me that limited government is better, they can vote for someone else."
Cuccinelli grew up in Fairfax and attended the University of Virginia and George Mason University where he received his law degree. He has his own law practice. Cuccinelli lives with his wife, Teiro, and their seven children in Fairfax.
