Out of the attic

Marshall Barbour was in charge of the trash pickup in the Town of Washington in the early 1950s. The all-women Town Council believed this was a necessary service for the town residents. The photograph was taken on Gay Street. (It ran in the March 3, 1999 edition of the Rappahannock News.)
