Rehabbing for 15 years now, Merritt's seen just about everything. She takes in any animal native to Virginia, including snakes, skunks, fox, opossums, deer, and more, but she specializes in “coons” and songbirds.
“You learn something new everyday. I’m absolutely not an expert in anything, but you do the best you can to get them back up and back out where they belong," she said.
