This off-year election, however, is being watched closely by the rest of the nation. People are asking themselves, “Was this a spasm, a trend or a permanent shift?” said Cuccinelli.
This was a call to rally the Republican faithful. “This is still a center right state,” he said.
But Cuccinelli also acknowledged that he is far behind '$900,000 behind' Shannon in fundraising, and there were pleas from Miller and conservative political writer Richard Viguerie to give generously.
Cuccinelli spoke to the Rappahannock News after the event, discussing several topics ranging from energy, to states rights to leadership.
