MEETINGS

• On Thursday. Aug. 6 the Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County courthouse on Gay Street. • Sales tax holiday Aug. 7-9 on school supplies and clothing: During this three-day period, purchases of certain school supplies, clothing and footwear will be exempt from the Virginia sales tax. Each eligible school supply item must be priced at $20 or less, and each eligible article of clothing and footwear must be priced at $100 or less. • On Tuesday, Aug. 11 the Rappahannock County School Board will meet at 7 p.m. closed session and at 7:30 p.m. public session at the RCHS band room. • The Town of Washington will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday. Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Highlights from the agenda include: wastewater update; sewer assessments; easements updates; an Allegheny Franchise Agreement; possible appointment of a Planning Commissioner; and continued consideration of a Zoning Map amendment to change a certain property from Rural Residential to Village Residential. • On Monday, Aug. 17 the Economic Revitalization Advisory Committee will meet at 10 a m. in the Rappahannock County Library.
