Annual carnival of the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department -lots of good food, hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, cookies, cakes, brownies. Grand Parade is Friday, 6:45 p.m. On Saturday, the queen will be crowned at 10 p.m. The winning raffle ticket for the heifer will be drawn at-11 p.m., and at midnight a new pickup truck will be given away,. Continental breakfast, 7:45 a.m. at The Link , followed by talk by Andrew Grigsby at 8:15 a.m., who will outline benefits of an energy audit for existing structures, new construction and renovation projects, Grigsby consults on design, construction and improving environmental performance of all types of structures and will describe the energy audit process and areas for focus in the context of his recent audit of the Sperryville Schoolhouse, aka The Link. Baseball registration, 10 a.m. - 12 noon, Stuart Field, Ruritan Building. If you have never played for Rappahannock Athletic Association, you must bnng your birth certificate or other official document for age verification. Online registration is available until Aug. 15, at www.rappculpbaseball.com or call 540-937-7900. Children ages 4-15 are eligible to play. We will have T-ball, Rookies 78, Minors 9-10, Majors 11-12 on a 50/70 field and 13-15 Combined. Children who will be four years old by May 1, 2010 are eligible to play Fall Baseball in T-ball.
