Landscape maintenance continues all year long. In tact fa# and winter is an ideal time to perform several procedures that afted the health, safety and beauty of your trees and shrubs dunng the spring and summer months.
Checklist for healthy trees and shrubs next year Identify and manage over-wintenng pest populations. Begin horticultural o# treatments if necessary tor fall feeding pests and next year's insects and mites.
Fertilize to promcrte root development.
Prune dead, broken and intertenng branches. If the canopy is dense, prune (thin) live branches to reduce wind resistance and improve appearance.
Check tor structural weaknesses in branch junctions - install cabling and or bracing if necessary.
Consider lightning protection tor trees at risk or dose to structures.
Perform cultural pradces. Mulch, protect from damage from animals and the drying effects of winter weather
