Stockholders Meet
W ith 111!.") snares represented by presence or proxy, the shareholders’ meeting of the Rappahannock National Bank was held Tuesday morning in the hank.
J- Hill O’Bannon was elected chairman of the meeting, with J. E. Wayland secretary.
The nine directors were reelected: Dr. E. W. Brown, James YY . Fletcher, C. E. Johnson, Jr., E. M. Jones, John A. Keyset1, A. ( . Latham, YY’. H. Massie, Jr., D. I). Miller, and R. YV. Miller.
A dividend of €>'< was declared, a surplus carried of $2000, and a building improvement fund of $2000 was set aside. A discussion on how to stimulate interest in attendance at the stockholders’ meeting led to the suggestion that the meeting next year would be fe<jt"TTred with a banquet.
The report of Mrs. B. F. Bruce, cashier, was in the form of a comparison of the condition of the bank at the close of business December 31, 1948, with that of December 31, 1949. This report was received most favorably and on motion of D. D. Miller a vote of thanks was extended Mrs. Bruce and her associates, J. Rodes Brown, Jr., and Allen D. Johnson, with a commendation for their excellent" work of the year. Expressions of other stockholders present re-iterated the satisfaction and confidence created by the work of Mrs. Bruce and her associates.
