Farmers Meeting Set
For Saturday, Jan. 14
AH farmers of the Culpeper *.lading area are invited to attend an open meeting to be held Saturday, January 14. at 10 a.m. in *he Culpeper Municipal building. The put pose of this meeting is to discuss the formation of an organization of farmers to he affiliated with a state and national farmer's organization. Men of state and national recognition will be on the program.
A county, organization of thikind would serve to help farmers to keep informed with state anil federal farm policies and lawmaking, for the purpose of helping shape sound agricultural policies. It would also assist in tne problems of our rural youth and could lend guidance and help to all other agricultural;,,programs in progress for the benefit of farmers n this area.
The need for this type of-^prganization was dise.ssed by. the officers and directors of the Culpeper Co-operative Farm Bureau, Jnc., and the Piogressixe Farmers club at a meeting held recently at the Lord Culpeper hotel, and plans were made for the open meeting to be held Saturdaymorning. Robert Apperson was chosen to serve as chairman of this open meeting. Mr. Appeison requests and urges that each farm family of the Culpeper trading area be present at this meeting.—John S. Hill.
