E. Blackburn \loore is the new Speaker of the House of Delegates. The fruit grower from Berryville is a frientl of Senator Byrd, also of Berryville.
Mr. Moore ha? been House floor leader for the last two sessions of the General Assembly. He succeeds G. Alvin Massenburg of Hampton, who was defeated in the Democratic primary in August.
Mr. Moore has' served in the House continuously since l.")33 and represents Clarke and Frederick counties and the city of Winchester. As floor leader, he has steered through the House all of the administration’s major legislative proposals. He sponsored anti-pollution legislation which established the State Water Cantrol Board and he now heads that agency.
Besides being active as a fruitgrower, he is a farmer and a banker.
