Mrs. Leslie Fox Keyser, elementary school supervisor, will conduct the program at Washington P.-T.A. meeting on Monday, January 16, in the school auditorium^ A good attendance is expected.
FIRE AT FLINT HILL FRIDAY
The Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Company wias called to Flint Hill on Friday at five o’clock to extinguish a fire. The fence below the .Rickett’s Hotel building had caught fire and was slightly damaged.
BURKES ARE IN NEW HOME
Mr. and Mrs. Wood Burke and family, whose property, was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day, moved last week into an apartment over Willie Payne’s grocery stoie. On Saturday evening they were -given a miscellaneous shower at their home by friends and' neighbors<£n the community.
Weather Prediction
Mrs. Alice Clarke predicts another , blizzard. She bases her prognostication on fact that just before the blizzard on February 13, 1898, there was a warm spell just as there has been these past few weeks.
Brook Miller says there’s no reason to expect snow—we had none last winter. To which statement A. J. Slaughter informs him there were 8 snows last winter and 17 the winter before last.

MRS. ELIZABETH DeBERGH HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB
Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergn entertained the bridge club at the “Harris Hollow Farm” Thursday evening.
The high score . prize was awarded to Mrs. John R. DeBergh, the tra\eling prize to Mrs. C. T. Bruce, the consolation one to Mrs. T. C. Lea, and the bingo prize was received by Mrs. D. D. Miller.
