Heart Attack Fatal
To James E. Harris
The entire community was shocked and grieved to hear of the sudden death of James Edward Harris, 48, who died Friday morning, January 20, from an acute heart attack.
He was the son of the late James Taylo>- ITaioi- and MoLie Popham Brown .Harris, and_ lived, at “Harris Hollo,w Farm,” the id a ce of his birth and the i tuno of his forefathers .for several generations.
Graveside services were held in the family section of the Masonic gemetery at Washington on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 with the ’Rev. M. E. Sliger. paste of the Baptist church, officiating.
Pallbearers were T. C. Lea, D. C. Link, Robert E. Miller, W. A. Miller, W. F. Moffett, Jr., L. V. Merrill, and Wade H Mas.de, Jr.
Mr. Harris is survived by his two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth 1L DeBergh at “Harris Hollow Farm.” and Mrs. Benjamin R. Cox of Washington; and a brother, Commander John Richard Harris, US CG, who retires June 30,. 195(5 after 30 years of service. Also surviving are a -niece and four nephews: Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., of Washington, Lieut. James VanLowen DeBergh, U3CG., of Washington, D. C., John Randolph DeBergh of “Harris Hollow Farm,” and JoTm R. Harris, Jr., and James Wayland Harris of Seattle, Washington.
