besides being engager in rarming, Mr. Harrisv. served for 20 years as assistant carrier on rural route number one at Washington. Until his death he w%s a school bus driver, having served in that capacity for about 23 years, ever since the rural school <bus system was installed ip the county. ,
“Jamie,” as Mr. Harris was affectionately called by everyone, was known far and wide in all walks of life for his amiability, kindness, charity, gentleness, and loyalty.
Legion Auxiliary Meets
Monday Evening
The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday, January 30, at 7:30 in the Firehouse at Washington. This is a very important meeting and every member is urged to be present. Please pay dues at this meeting.
The three-point legislative program adopted by the American * Legion, needs your support now. “Re-habilitation, National Security, Americanism.” These are the three points of a legislative program designated by the American Legion’s National Executive Committee for concentrated Legion and Auxiliary efforts during the coming year. Measures to carry out the Legion’s nation convention recommendations in these three fields will be given all-out sipport when they come up before Congress. Proposed legislation which the Legion 'believes to be harmful to veterans of the nation will be vigorously opposed. —Mrs. W. H. Lyne, reporter.
