Many ( ulpeper ami Rappaban- , nock county fanners are taking a0\ antatre of the pasture iniprovenient program as set up under the* Production Marketing: Administration. Tlie program allows farmers to get additional assistance in establishing pastares, over and above their regular farm allotment. Culpeper county lias set a maximum of five’ acres and Rappahannock 10 acjres for each land owner. Nearly every farm in the Culpeper Soil Conservation District can improve the quality of their grazing lands and thus increase the number of anitjtals that may he grazed on the land.
Lieut. Sam A. Hill, Slate Mills, and W elch Brothers, owners of Mt. View farm, Flint Hill, havo developed complete farm plans for soil and water conservation. Both farms are being developed as beef cattle uni s, stressing the production of higi quality bay and pastures an I minimizing corn and small grains. B >t i farms arc quite steep and are not well adapted for the production of corn ami other depleting crops. However, the soil types on both are very desirable, lending themselves well for grass farming.
The young robin eats more than its own weight in food every day. Eighteen feet of earthworms make up the daily diet of this voracious, little fledgling.
