There have been so many fine articles published by you and your helpers, articles” about fine folk who have been reared and lived their entire life in Rappahannock county. This article will be about another fine personality, who has lived her entire life in the county. She was born in the county seat, Washington, spending a part of her young life there, later nio\ing to Sperryyille.
She married a fine young man who was reared in Spertyville. They were blessed with two lovely children, a boy and girl.
While the children were very young, the husband died and the responsibility of rearing those children was left to her. Not too long after the father died, God in His wisdom saw fit to take from her this beautiful curly headed son. The sorrow was great, but with her w'orlderful 'Christian courage, she struggled on to make a home and a living for her dear daughter, her aged mother and herself. She did many things such as cooking for boarders, sewing for the public, but the greatest of all, nursing the sick and afflicted.
