Mealworms — a familiar sight in grains and meals—now are invading alfalfa.
Unusually severe damage has been reported by farmers in Virginia—particularly» in the section around Charlotte Courthouse.
This is what to do, says John Amos, entomologist at VPI. Clean out storage places. Beat out and hang up hags in which grain, meal, etc., are to be stored. You’ll find mealworm populations on the decrease. A clean-up campaign in . storage places is good control for all insects. If you still have trouble— spray with DDT.
