Shooting Contest Won

John Turner, 13-y*ear-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Turner received the first prize in a shooting gallery contest which was held Wednesday, July 12, during the carnival sponsored by the Front Royal Garden Club for the benefit of the Warren Memorial Hospital at “Meadowbroolc Hall,” the home of Mrs. William P. Slaughter at Huntly.
John’s score in the contest was 18 points, and the second high-* est score of 14 points was made by Bob Cook, a veteran from Flint Hill.
The contestants participating in themateh with whom John had to compete used single-shot rifles and were mostly army men and veterans.
The high scCre prize received by John consisted of a .22 sevenshot automatic rifle.
Bible School To Be Held
In Sperryville Next Week
A Union Daily Vacation Bible School, sponsored by the Baptist and Methodist chutches of Sperryville will be held next week at the Reynold’s Memorial Baptist church. Classes will begin on Monday, July 24, and will continue through Friday morning from 9 to ll-:30. There will be separate classes for each department; Children from the ages of five through 15 years from all denominations are cordially invited to attend.
