James Estes To Celebrate

87th Anniversary

James A. Estes of Sperryville will celebrate his 87th birthday Saturday, July 22. The Sunday school of the Methodist church at Sperryville is making plans^to celebrate Mr. Estes’ birthday with him at a picnic Saturday.

Rapp’lc Garden Club

To Meet July 26

The Rappahannock Garden club will hold its monthly meeting at he home of Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Wednesday, July 26, at 3:00 o’clock. The program will be on landscaping and the exhibits will consist of your favorite arrangements. All those attending the meeting are required to wear a flower arrangement in their hair .before they will be admitted to the meeting.

REYNOLDS MEMORIAL WMS

The Woman’s Missionary Society of Reynolds Memorial Baptist church met in the church Saturn day afternoon. The subject was Nigeria. Mrs. S. E. Hening had charge of the program. Refresh^ ments were served by Mrs. Holmes Hall.

Met Thursday Evening

The Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Washington Methodist church met with Mrs. F. E. Compton and Mrs. Jessie Rowzie Thursday evening with 13 members and two visitors, Mi3s Lottie Burton and Miss Sirley Weaver present. Miss Janet Sollenberger program chairman for the month, assisted by Mrs. Mabel Racer, Mrs. Jessie Rowzie, and Mrs. Gilbert Updike, led a most interesting discussion, the subject being “Israel—The New Jewish State."

After the meeting a delightful social hour was enjoyed.

Emmanuel Auxiliary Held

Meeting At Rectory

The woman’s Auxiliary of Emmanuel Episcopal church of Sperryville, held its regular monthly business meeting on the lawn of the rectery. Tuesday afternoon with Dr. and Mrs. Pendleton as hosts.

Twelve members and nine visitors were present. Miss Flossie Williamson .assisted by Carolyn Gates Turner and Mary Norman Davis, served punch.
