Mr. Fred Haines and Mr. Richard Sheetz have recently returned from a two day meeting of Potomac Edison News correspondents held in Hagerstown, Md.
The staff members of the utility company’s newspapers heard a talk by Alfred Crowell, head of the University of Maryland’s Journalism School, who stressed the need for, and value of, an em- ' ploye publication.
Potomac Edison President, R. Paul Smith praised the correspondents for the excellent job they have done and congratulated them for their part in helping the P. E. News win first prize in the Public Utilities Advertising Association contest.
As correspondents for the News from this area, Mr. Haines and Mr. Sheetz collect local news items concerning the utility company and writes a monthly column ^ of personnel activities.
