Meeting Held Wednesday

The regular monthly meeting of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service was held Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock in the Methodist church. Mrs. Nina Brown led ftthe devotional using as the Scripture Romans 2, verses 1-5, followed by the Lords Prayer in unison. After the business session the program was presented, the subject was “Never Again Such Insecurity” a story of Israel, with Mrs, George Brown, Mrs. J. B. Johnson and Miss Della Hitt aldng part 'on the program.

Garden Club Federation

Give* $1,000 To VP1

A gift of f 1,000 has been given the horticultural department at VPI by the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs for use as a ^scholarship fund, for students majbring in some phase of ornamental horticulture.

Dr. Wesley P. Judkins, head of the department of horticulture, said the scholarships will be available to students after their freshman year at VPI, and will be awarded on the basis of scholastic standing, extracurricular activities interest in horticulture, financial need and personality.
