Plans are running at a furious pace for the ceremonies accompanying the induction of the ladies into the offices of mayor'and town council of Washington next Friday, September 1.
The reception for visitors in the town is set to follow the induction ceremonies. This reception will be held on the Courthouse - Lawn. . "• * > v
A Square Dance will be held In the high school auditorium Friday night tfrom 9 to 1 o'clock. A . string-orchestra will be on hand with a regular figure-caller for the dance. Costumes will be cottons and blue jeans.
Many distinguished guests have accepted the invitations to be on hand for the festivities, and folks are expecting the return of kin and old-timers who will take the occasion to renew acquaintances in the county.
Someone has commented on the pleasant situation that gives rise to family gatherings. The talk runs as if the ladies did everyone VpWHil "favors*by getting themselves elected no there was an extra excuse to come back home for a visit.
Falling as it does, with the opening of thq Labor Day holiday, the clans of the county will be gathering.
