Our neighbors over in Warren county are putting on some special sales in their stores and as an added attraction they say: free parking on meters to out-oft o w n shoppers. That’s very thoughtful, thank you, and we’ll take advantage of it, too.
Somewhere, the other day, there appeared in print a list of statistics on how many more cars there were in the United States than places to park ’em.
(Brings to mind the observation of a fellow on matrimony: “There’s more couples getting married today than as has a place to reside at when they’re at home.”)
This isn’t Thanksgiving day, but it’s no matter. Here in Rappahannock we give thanks that there’s no parking problem. Just stop your car, pull up the brake, turn off the switch, and get out.
