Mrs. Settle Entertains
Flint Hill Garden Club
The Flint Hill Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. James Settle Wednesday afternoon, August 23. Eleven members and four guests attended. Mrs. James Settle was awarded high score for a summer flower arrangement with a score of 95 points. Mrs. B. J. Wood and Mrs. John Browning received second award with 30 points. Mrs. Paul V. Hounshell of Culpeper, spoke and gave a demonstration on making corsages. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess.

Miss Dianne Dalton and' Mr. William Tupman, of Washington, D. C., will be married at Trinity Episcopal church* at 12 o’clock noon, Monday, August 23, with Dr. W. G. Pendleton officiating.
Dr. and Mrs. W. G. Pendleton will entertain the bridal party and out of town guests for luncheon at the Rectory.
BETTER LUCKY THAN RICH!
Joe Alther, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Alther of Castleton, recently fell 23 feet down through the barn and landed on a cement floor in(the feed-way * That boy must be carrying a special brand of rabbit’s foot, for luck was with him in a double dose. He survived the fall with only a foot injury. Joe was up in the barn hunting pigeons when he slipped* and fell.
