Forest Grove Reports
Successful Revival
Forest Grove Baptist church, at Viewtown, held their' annual revival August 114-20. The church was filled every night, which testified to the interest. There were many visitors attending during? , the week from Washington, D* ’ Chattanooga, Tenn., Warren ton, Culpeper, Richmond, Woodville, Flint Hill, and Washington.
The Rev. W. Fred Sliger, pas-* tor of University Heights Baptist church, Tallahassee, Fla., was the guest preacher.
Special music was a feature of the meeting in that the church choir rendered a special each night. Mrs. John Woodrow Sliger of Chattanooga, Tenn., sang “The Lord’s Prayer” on Thursday night. On Sunday night the guest minister sang a solo entitled “I’ll „ Walk with the King.” The music was under the direction of the pastor, Rev. M. E. Sliger.
The congregation of 70 members was organized in 1886 and services are held every first and third Sunday. During the revival the following ten new members were received: Mr. and Mrs. William Wood, Mrs. Joe Hitt, Cletus Prince, Mrs. Florence Prince, Miss Dorothy Ihrince, Shirley Woodard, * Charles Settle, Eugene Cooke, and Melvin Williams. Of these, five are candidates for baptism, four by transfer of membership, and one by statement.

Induction Festivities
At a called meeting of the board of directors Saturday morning, states E. Murphy Hoffman, president of Culpeper Chanjbpr;'of-< Commerce, it was endorsed - tfesf!^ .' the chamber go along with the Association for Greater Warrenton in publishing booklets of the history of Washington and Rappahannock county. A sketch of the history of these two towns (Culpeper and Warrenton) will be included and the active part these organizations are taking will be mentioned in this booklet with no advertising solicited.
This booklet will be given to y all attending the celebration on September 1, when the ladies of Washington will be installed as Mayor and members of the town council, the first such woman control of a town government in this section of the State.
The Chamber felt this goodwill gesture would be greatly appreciated, said Newman Bailey, secretary of Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, by all its members in appreciation of the many thousands of dollars spent in Culpeper by the citizens of Rappahannock.
