During the demonstration “Quick Mix Cakes,” a chocolate and a coconut cake were baked. Mrs. Russell Burke was the hostess of the Estes H.D. group Friday afternoon at their demonstration, "Frozen Dessert." The group tasted frozen fruit salad, grape moose, and peach sherbert. Mrs. Ralph Rowzie will be the proud owner of a lovely suite of furniture, Wednesday morning. We began the tieing of springs and sewing on padding.

CELEBRATES 89th BIRTHDAY

James A. Estes celebrated his 89th birthday Tuesday, July 22 very quietly at his home in Sperryville with a few friends and relatives calling to extend congratulations on this happy occasion. Although Mr. Estes has reached this advanced age, he is still alert and enjoys talking over old times and his keen interest in his church is remarkable. He has -been a life time member of the Methodist Church and for a number of years was Superintendent of the Sunday School as well as a steward. -His activity in all -programs of the church has been outstanding.
