County News Notes

B. J. Wood and Nelson Atkins went to Camp Enon for the following Flint Hill Boy Scouts, Dudley Wood, Jimmy Yates, Leon Atkins, Arthur Hiserman, G. W. Smith III. On Friday night Mr. and Mrs. James Yates and daughter, Ann, Mrs. B. J. Wood, Mrs. G. W. Smith and son, Charlie were at Camp Enon for the Camp ... Fire celebration.

The Flint Hill Methodist Church held its annual picnic Saturday t Powell’s Fort with one hundred and— fifteen or twenty persons present. Soft ball and swimming were the principle sports.

Mrs. M. R. Bradford is visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Davidson, while there they will go on a trip to Niagara Falls and Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Stant Weaver, Johnnie Weaver, Tommie Wayland, Markwood and Wayne Butler were among those who went to Massenatta Springs on Monday. The boys will spend the week there.

Mrs. C. G. Reid Jr. was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Reid from Thursday until Sunday, On Monday Mrs, Reid sailed for Liverpool, England. From there she will visit France, , Italy and Algeria and will return to the states September 1. .

Mr. and Mrs. Smith Russell, Charles. Russell and Miss Hattie Russell of Blucfield, Virginia were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Reid on their return trip from Canada.

Neville Wood and Mrs. Charles Reid attended the annual picnic of the Flint Hill Methodist Sunday School Saturday, which was held at Powell’s Fort.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie McGehee and family spent the weekend in Richmond with Mr. McGehee’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McGehee.

Mr. and Mrs. John Harvey Dillard of Essex County were .week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. Di Miller. On Friday the Millers had as their luncheon guest, H. S. Barksdale.

Mrs. L. V. Merrill visited her relatives, Mr, and Mrs. John B. Aylor and Mrs. J. Henry Aylor of Madison last week.
