New Pasture

Leaflet Available

“Here’s How to Seed That Pasture” is the title of a newly prepared leaflet now available from county agents or from the agronomy department at VPI.

The leaflet advises farmers to take soil samples now and send them to the agronomy department for analysis. Apply the amount of lime needed at least 30 days before seeding, and plow or disk it into the soil.

The soil test also will give an indication of the amount and analysis of fertilizer needed.

The leaflet also gives suggestions on what and when to seed, and other tips for top pastures.
