Take Swimming Classes
The Water Safety and Swimming Program of the Rappahannock County Chapter of the American Red Cross closed Friday, July 25. The chapter was extremely fortunate in having Howard Camp, Jr., Eastern Area Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety instructor, conduct the classes for the two-week course. There were 140 children from various sections of the county Registered in the swim classes. The classes continued to grow daily until Mr. Camp had to announce during the second week that the course was too near over for any more to register. Howrever, at the beginning of the second week new classes for beginners were organized for the late comers.
Certificates will be issued to 48 participants, or 34% of the enrollment, who successfully completed the course by passing the tests given by Mr. Camp. I will mail these certificates out as soon as I receive them from Mr. Camp and the means of those receiving the certificates will be PbJ'l'shed in Rappahannock News.
