Council Meeting

The Town Cqtiticil of Washington met on Tuesday evening with fcve councilmen present and Mayor Dorothy C. Davis presiding. Highlights of the meeting’Svere the discussion of a permanent Christmas tree, decision postponed until a permanent location could lie secured ; requests granted for the replacement of two lights, o«e on Gay Street between Millde and Calvert the other on Blue Ridge Avenue near the residence of C. G. Reid.

It was decided to ask the State Department of Highway to place a solid line through town and speed limit signs on Fodderstaok and\ Harris Hollow roads.

In view of the fact that Richard Worthington wa$ resigning from the State Highway Department, the coancil voted to write and express their appreciation to him for hi* co-operation and valuable help he had given" them. -

Mhyor Dorothy C Davis and Mrs. C. .1. Miller were seated as delegates’ to represent tl*e coiaicil at the amvention of League of Virginia Municipalities at Old Point Comfort.
