Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown entcrtained a family dinner on Sunday honoring Mr, and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown Jr. on their birthday anniversary. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Thornton and son, Lee III and the honoree Mr. and Mrs. Brown Jr. and their daughter, Susan. In the afternoon the Thornton family accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Downing Wood and .their daughters, Nancy and Alice motored to Glen Echo Amusement Park near Washington, D. C.

Mrs. James M. Thornton 'entertained at a luncheon on Saturday in honor or her mother, Mrs. Meade of Grundy. Her guests were Miss Susie Thornton and Mrs. Tony Thornton of Culpeper, Mrs. Lee Thornton, Mrs. Mildred Thornton, Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. J. W. Fletcher, Mrs. William M. Fletcher and Mr*. Rodes Brown Jr.

Rev. and Mrs. A. Paul Thompson P. Lee Thornton 111 and M rs. -J. Rodes Brown spent Friday in Charlottesville.
