It was proud we were indeed as we listened to the records of our county 4-H youth, as expounded in the Friday night “achievement day” program. There was talk of county winner, area winner, and then state winner—we waited quietly to hear these honorees sum up the “cause” of their successes; and to watch the “effect” of these successes. And we were even more proud as they listed in their cause: “hard work,” “good counseling,” “hard work” and again “hard work” ... Come the next generation many great oaks will spread their branches,” we predict . . .
