Circuit Court convened Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week with the Honorable Judge Rayner V. Snead, presiding.
The case of Southern States vs. B. M. Furr, was, on motion of the parties by their attorneys, dismissed, “settled.” James W. Fletcher represented the plaintiff and J. W. Price represented the defendant.
The case of J. G. Henderson versus John Lawrence was declared by a jury and was decided in favor of the defendant. The plaintiff, Henderson, was represented by J. W* Price Jr. and the defendant by J. W. Fletcher.
The case of the Commonwealth versus Pete Atkins was referred to the probation officer for pre-sentence^ reporjt and returnable the first day of next term.
The case of the Commonwealth versus Ronald Edward Taylor, indicted for a felony, was referred to the probation officer for pre-sentence report, returnable the first day of next term.
The case of the Commonwealth versus James Matthews Settle, appealed, was dismissed.
The case of the Commonwealth versus John Deal, appealed from the Trial Justice Court, was tried by jury. The accused was found guilty and required to pay fine of $100 and costs.
