Draws Large Crowd
The County 4-H Achievement Day came to an impressive climax Friday night, as parents and friends of “the 4-H’er” met at R.C.H.S. to recognize past achievements of the youths and inspire them towards future ones.
Individual 4-H’ers were awarded medals for their outstanding work, and adult leaders, praised for their counseling. The incentive that was born anew as the youths saw the many persons who believed in their work, as exemplified in their presence, flamed higher as Bill Turner, State 4-H Club Agent, talked of “a 4-H’er’s striving to become a bigger and better citizen.” __ Miss Lelia Gentry acted as Mistress of Ceremonies and Miss Betty Rutherford lead the group in singing several. songs. Their ease at conducting the program lent a pleasant informality to the evening’s activities.
