Mrs. Bartow Brown celebrated her 85th birthday Sunday, Xovember 14, at a party held in her honor by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown of Winchester. Mrs. Brown, who makes her home at The Orchards, is the former Miss Judith Faunt LeRoy West of Louisiana and Rappahannock, the widow of the late Bartow B. Brown of Culpeper and Rappahannock. v
The guests entered the living room where they were served champagne and fruit juice. A toast, indeed a most appropriate one, was given by the hostess. It concluded I . . “To Dear Jay, whose motto has always been ‘I had rather wear out than to rust out.’ ”
Pictures of the group were made and they were then ushered into the dining room where a delicious buffet turkey dinner was served.
