The regular supper meeting of the Rappahannock Lion’s Club was held at Hampton Inn February 14, seven p.m. We are proud to announce that there was one hundred per cent attendance with one visitor present. We are always happy to have Mr. Johnson, from Culpeper, visit us. He is indeed one of our most ardent supporters.
It was decided that there would be no meeting in Rappahannock on the next scheduled meeting date. The entire club will visit the Culpeper Club for their next meeting.
It was a pleasure for all members to have the opportunity to honor Lion Harry Lee Smith for his excellent work during the recent fruit cake drive. He sold over a hundred of the cakes and was presented a leather briefcase from the club. In acceptance the token of appreciation from Jim Bill Coates, Lion President, Harry Lee stated, “I am sure that the proceeds from this sale go to help others a great deal but I am equally sure that in so serving others, I have reaped the greatest benefits, by far.” Such a statement truly re
