After Brief Illness
Francis Wilbur Walter, of Amissville, better known as Frank, died Tuesday, September 11 in Fauquier Hospital after an acute heart attack. Mr. Walter was a native of Rappahannock County, the son of the late John Amos Walter and Sally Bell Walter. He was 68 years of age.
Survivors include his wife, Mariam Virginia Rowzie Walter; two daughters, Mrs. S. D. Hutton and Mrs. Jesse Settle, all of Amissville; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Curtis, Amissville, Mrs. Elizabeth Owens,1 Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Effie Hiss, Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, Will Walter, The Plains, Raymond Walter, Baltimore and Robert Walter, Charlottesville; and two grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, September 13 at the Amissville Methodist Church cemetery at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Stalter officiating.
