Watch Bulk-Truck Spreaders
During this past summer % numerous reports were received from farmers of this county on iP the uneven distribution of fertilizer materials applied by spreader trucks. Also, unsatisfactory alfalfa weevil control was experienced where heptachlor-fertilizer applications were made last fall.
J. O. Rowell, Extension Ento- j mologist on page 2 of MS-105, “Control The Alfalfa Weevil,” published July 23, 1962, makes this statement: “Bulk - truck spreaders have proven unsatisfactory as applicators for fertilizer - heptachlor mixtures.”
