Marines Will Take
All Prior Servicemen
Prior servicemen of all branches of the Armed Forces are now being accepted for enlistment in the Marine Corps, reports Marine Recruiting Sergeant C. £. Dzarnowski of 220 North -First Street, Richmond.
Previously only ex-Marines were accepted.
The order reminded Marine Recruiters of the need to maintain the quality of enlistees and again placed the responsibility of selection on the discretion of the officer in charge of the recruiting station. Captain Dallas R. Walker is the responsible officer for Marine recruiting in Virginia.
Prior servicemen will be required to pass the physical and mental qualifications for enlistment as a Marine. They will also be required to undergo the complete Marine recruit training schedule at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C. and advanced infantry training at Camp Lejeune, N. C.
Captain Walker has emphasized that only prior servicemen with Honorable Discharges and recommended for reenlistment in the branch of the Armed Forces in which they served will be considered for enlistment in the Marines.
