Newbill Miller is now managing the Washington Packing House. His Wife Carol is secretary. Yesterday I went there to take some apples Joe Keyser gave me. Wish you could see the pound and one ounce apple Norman Grimsley gave me from his orchard. As I was leaving Bee Miller said to get some of his big red relicious. They were running them right at that time. They are beauties. It is really a pleasure to visit the Packing House. Everyone working there is so friendly.

Mary Wood has been helping out in the Postoffice, as well as working the rural route. Charles Palmer takes over the rural route sometime soon, around October 1st.

Jimmie Settle is getting around now and seems to be feeling better.

Our new county judge, Carlyle Lea has opened an office here. It’s always nice to have our boys and girls come back home. Guess you have heard John Peyton is in the office with his father, Dr. Pohn Snead. I understand John, IV., will be very popular with the young folks, as his father has always been.

Cousin Bob Miller was awarded the bed spread the Ladies of the Fire Company of Washington gave away several weeks ago.
