Looks as though everyone is settling down and hitting the books now. That first-day, carefree feeling has been replaced by a realization that we’ve got a lot of work to do.
The S.C.A. is really becoming busy. Representatives take care of the mealtime grace and distribute lunch tickets.
The Junior class had their first class meeting Monday. Their officers for this term are president, Frank Moffett, vicepresident, Dotty Davis (how about that Dotty?); secretary, Joseph Ralls, treasurer Alice Jenkins; and reporter, Susan Schaefer. These people have important jobs. This is the year that they have to work for and plan a prom among pther things.
This year for the first time RCHS will have an Honor Society. It is part of a national organization which recognizes students with outstaudijig scholastic records. Only Juniors and Seniors may be fullfledged members, though sophmores are allowed in on a trial basis.
We are glad to see the familiar face of Mr. Atkins around again this year as custodian of the school. He is always so pleasant and obliging.
Cheerleaders had their first practice session Monday - oh my aching muscles (groan).
Gripes — The traffic jams in the hall between classes; Mr. Bolyard’s West Virginia complex ; the length of time it’s taking to set up a club schedule, seems like ages; those long lunch lines.
