The new center is a branch of University of Virginia School of General Studies, and is located on Main Street in Madison in a remodeled frame house. It was purchased by funds appropriated by Orange, Madison, Culpeper, Greene and Rappahannock counties and students this year will come from all five counties.

Andre C. DePorry, director of the Central and Western Virginia Division, School of General Studies, University of Virginia, expressed hope that a library wing can be added in the future.

The following appointments have been made by the University: Mrs. Gordon T. Whyburn, M.A., to teach mathematics; James B. Davis, M.A., English; James S. Noblitt, B.A., French; Carlton B. Smith, M.S., History; Ertle Thompson, M. Ed., Chemistry.
