Richard D. Brown
Richard Davis Brown, 52,' of Sperryville, died Wednesday, January 23, 1963 at his home after a long illness. Mr. Brown, an employee of Rappahannock Fruit Growers was a native of Rappahannock County, the son of John William and Laura Woodward Brown. He is survived by his wife, Susie Dodson Brownandfour sons, Franklin D., John D., Allen R., and Thomas E. Brown, all of Sperryville. Also five sisters, Mrs. C. E. Atkins of Culpeper, Mrs. Virginia Marcey of Arlington, Mrs. France^ Loper of Hampton and Mrs. Annie Winterbanner of Belleville, Illinois, and one brother Lacy W. Brown of Sebring, Florida. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday January 25 from Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde F. Melton officiating. Interment was in the Sperryville cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Baldwin, Clyde Atkins,John Eubank, Cecil Atkins, Alson Atkins, Elmer Atkins, Roy Atkins and Dolan Jenkins. The Clore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
