Mr. Jim Settle
Judge and Mrs. R. V; Snead entertained at a buffet supper at Fairlea on Friday night honoring James M. Settle. Guest were friends, associated with Mr. Settle during his 40 years of service as Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock before his retirement on December 31. 1962. Mr. Settle was unable to attend his party but later in the evening was presented at his home with an engraved silver tray in token of the esteem felt by his friends for his years of faithful service and friendship. Those making the presentation for the group were Mrs. Frank Spalding, Mrs. Eva Smith, James W. Fletcher and Judge R. V. Snead. Others present were, Judge and Mrs. B. M. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Parade On May 3
Invitations to participate in the Grand Feature Parade of the 1963 Chenandoah Apple Blossom Festival May 3 have been mailed to 170 units in 14 states and the District of Columbia, according to Richard J. Rosenberger, parade director.
The prospective units, which include high school, college and university bands, drum & bugle corps, military schools, marching units, floats and organizations of various kinds, are located in Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina. South
