iwo escapees from Albe- i marie County jail and an I AWOL psychiatric patient from Walter Reed Hospital were apprehended and a twocar collision reported in Rappahannock over the weekend. George Martin Dunnivan, i 35, of Barboursville, Va., i and John F. Word, 32, of Athens, Ga., escaped from ; Albemarle County jail Sunday morning, January 27. ; They stole an automobile about 1 p.m. in Barbours- j ville and picked up Dunnivan’s
wife there. A general j alarm was broadcast and the trio was apprehended an hour and a half later.
According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, the offenders offered no resistence when they were stopped on Rt. 231, five miles south of Sperryville at 2:20 p.m. Sheriff C. K. Estes andNetus Brown, Jr., who were manning a roadblock near Sperryville, assisted Mr. Buntin in taking the escapees to Rappahannock Jail.
