After supper late in tne evening, we all went to the trading post to get things to remind us of Philmont. Some boys bought belts, neckerchiefs, others slides, and still others shirts. After an hour of patch trading, everyone hit the sack.
August 14, 1963 — Early this morning, at about 3:45, we got up for the long ride to Stillwater, Oklahoma where we would spend the first night. After hurried loading and preparation, we climbed on the bus and headed out. The time was 5:30 and we were still very sleepy. After riding for several hours we stopped for breakfast in Texas. We were in the panhandle section of Texas at this time. After eating breakfa st, we proceded through Texas and into Oklahoma.- H. We ate lupch at about- nooH and then headed for Oklahoma State University in Stillwatei; Oklahoma. We arrived at the college and put our equipment in one of the main buildings. We were amazed at all the shops in the building.There was also a cafeteria and a snack bar.
